For many years now, I have been pursuing self-effacement as the ideal art form but AI tells me ‘Get over yourself, you’re supposed to be selling your art prints’. Consequently, here is some background to my paintings.
After years as a copywriter, I now paint. Is that enough? No? Well there is a proper About Gilbert Summers on that link. Suffice it to say I have lived in and travelled through Scotland all my days. Most of the paintings are fairly recent and recall places that have special meaning for me.
It’s beginning to look like these places mean something for many of my customers as well: happy memories of days on the sands at Back of Keppoch (Arisaig); open skies of North Uist en route for the ferry; a sunset over Cullen on the Moray Firth…and so on.
By the way....A note about framing
So-o, here below is where you'll find lots of lovely prints, mostly of Scottish scenes, at great prices. Please note these are sold as print only - I print 'em, I send 'em in a tube. If you want a framed print, then most of the A3 and A4 sizes are available as a framed option in my Etsy shop at GilbertSummersArt.
If you intend to frame the prints yourself, maybe re-using an existing frame or with an 'off the shelf' frame (eg from IKEA, Hobbycraft etc) or by using a framing service, then stick around on this site as there is a bigger choice of prints here.
